How to clear the SD/USB media partition before reflashing
How to clear the previously flashed ENS image from an SD card or a USB stick so that Windows can see the card, and write a new image to the device.
***CAUTION*** This is a potentially dangerous procedure that if done hastily and without double-checking, could result in wiping your computer's HDD. **DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN THE WINDOWS COMMAND PROMPT. BE CAREFUL!!!**
All commands are without quotes unless otherwise specified
- Open a command prompt window. Again, if you dont know how to do this, stop here and find someone familiar with working on the command line.
- Type "diskpart" and press Enter. Approve the User Account Control prompt (Say Yes)
- Type "list disk" and press Enter. This will show a list of disks on your computer.
- Match the size of the SD/USB media to the listed disks. If you have an 2GB card, you're looking for roughly "2000 MB". Note the MB, NOT GB. 2000MB == 2GB. A 4GB card will show as < 4000 MB. It will RARELY be disk 0.
It is crucially important that you select the CORRECT disk at this stage - Type "select disk #" where # is the number of the usb/sd disk
**CAUTION If you accidentally selected your system drive and perform the next step, your COMPUTER WILL NO LONGER BOOT!!! BE CERTAIN YOU'VE SELECTED THE CORRECT DISK** - If you're sure you selected the correct drive, type "clean" and press Enter. This will wipe the disk's partition information.
